Kevin Smith didn't need to buy his film "Red State" at Sundance over the weekend to grab headlines. He already had a group of protestors from the Westboro Baptist Church helping him out on that front, and a few tweeters in the feed had some suggestions for the folks holding the picket signs.
Sadly, the death of fitness diehard Jack LaLanne also trended last night. You can check out who remembered him and which artist called him a personal fitness guru down below. It's all there after the jump along with football reactions and an Avengers-related issue that Christos Gage needs some help with.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is your Twitter Report for January 24, 2011.
Jack LaLanne pt. 1: @robertliefeld RIP Jack Lalanne. You were the fitness guru of my youth.
-Rob Liefeld, Writer/Artist ("X-Force," "Youngblood")
Jack LaLanne pt. 2: @andeparks RIP Jack LaLanne. So, I can live like that and feel good 'til 96? Or, I can keep it up and feel pretty good until 80. I'm thinking here...
-Ande Parks, Writer/Artist ("Green Arrow," "Capote")
Jack LaLanne pt. 3: @CullyHamner Jack LaLanne has passed away. I'd say rest in peace, but I'm not sure that guy ever rested...! #fb
-Cully Hamner, Artist ("Red," "Blue Beetle")
@ronmarz I know these football tweets are boring to some of you. Now you know how we feel when "Glee" is on.
-Ron Marz, Writer ("Green Lantern," ("Witchblade")
@BrianLynch The RED STATE picketers should take on YOGI BEAR. Bears don't talk, goes against God's way.
-Brian Lynch, Writer ("Angel: After the Fall," "Monkey Man Unleashed")
@Todd_McFarlane FOOTBALL: Was rooting for the long suffering JETS fans. Been way too long for them to get to the big dance. But the 2 strongest teams won.
-Todd McFarlane, Writer/Artist ("Spawn," "The Amazing Spider-Man")
Deep Thought for the Day:
@Christosgage Survey: How do you pronounce "Tigra"? "Tee-gra" or "Tygra"? Personally I go for the second one but I have no idea which is correct.
-Christos Gage, Writer ("Union Jack," "Absolution")
